Just a short walk to the Pont Neuf Chatelet and the most visited gallery in the world - Le Louvre - here you will find an 800 year old building which has had the most amazing glass pyramid entrance added to it - designed by the Chinese American architect I M Pei - the entrance is made up of 673 diamond shaped glass panes. Once inside the gallery the highlight is the Mona Lisa which is found in the Denon Wing on the first floor and sits behind glass for all to see - that gaze never leaves you - nor does that enigmatic smile.

For a fun filled afternoon head over to the Pompidou Centre - a pleasurable place filled with plenty of culture - there's a large public library, cinema and theatres and the largest museum in the world. There's plenty of street entertainment and change to drink coffee in the shade as you soak up the atmosphere and watch the world go by.

For some thing a little romantic - take a river boat ride up the Seine and enjoy many of the sites from a relaxed and serene vantage point. Wonderful.
