Guests Name: Lynn was travelling as Mature couple
Good stuff: location/room accommodations/staff/
Bad stuff: the weather was very cold - only complaint
Overall: this was our first vist to Paris and we were very satisfied and since we were two Texans (USA) with no French background we felt we were greeted warmly and got along very well - loved the city and celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in the city of lights!!

Guests Name: Nancy was travelling as Family with older children
Good stuff: The room decor was marvelous; it was nice having a private bath; the included breakfast was delicious and very hearty, included eggs and meats. The restaurants on the street were affordable with very good food.
Bad stuff: We didn't know how to get the air-conditioning working at first and spent two nights without climatisation, and the neighborhood is pretty busy and with the windows open for air, it was noisy. However when we finally asked the desk to turn on the air-conditioner, we found the double-paned windows very effective in blocking out the street noise.
Overall: Generally we were prepared ahead of time for the large number of smokers in Paris, as in all Europe, but it was still rather bothersome when people would even smoke through dinner at the little restaurants we went to. The location of the hotel in the San Germain des Pres neighborhood is wonderful, full of history, art galleries, shops, cinema and food. You can walk to the Ile de la Cite, Musee d'Orsee, Pont des Arts, and the Louvre. For the rest, the metro is very convenient, with two main lines, Mabillon and Odeon, very close by. What we would have liked to have known before we came was to bring wash cloths and to ask the desk sooner about the air-conditioning.
