Good stuff: Good value for money. Clean and warm. Well situated for shops, bars, restaurants and the metro.
Bad stuff: Poor insulation between rooms meant that it was noisy, plus building work began somewhere early on saturday morning.
Overall: The hotel was well situated in a touristy area of Paris. There were numerous well-priced restaurants and bars in the area which were very friendly and full of character. There were also numerous shops within a 5-10 minute walk, all with a more local flavour than those in central Paris-in particular there was a lovely cheesemongers and a boutique-esque kids shop called 'Ooops'. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. Given the price it was exceptionally good value for money. This being said, there were a couple of small issues that, had I paid more I would have raised with the staff. Firstly, despite booking a double room, my partner and I received a room with 2 single beds pushed together and covered with a throw designed for a double bed. The sheets however were for each individual bed. This somewhat reduced our comfort during the stay. In addition the insulation between the rooms was very poor meaning that we could hear everyone on our corridoor entering and exiting their rooms. Furthermore on the Saturday morning there was clearly some building work being carried out on nearby buildings (clearly this was not the fault of the hotel and was undoubtably unique to our visit)meaning that we were unable to sleep after 8am. Despite these minor mishaps though the stay was altogether a pleasant one. It was easy to get in and around Paris as there were 2 Metro stations nearby and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Indeed on the Sunday before our flight they allowed us to leave our bags with them after our checkout until our flight in the evening. The rooms, though not large, had all necessities including shower and television. We never had a chance to sample the hotels breakfast (despite it being available until 10am), but for visitors as lazy as we were there is a rather nice boulangerie/patisserie about 2minutes away from the hotel (turn left out of the main entrance) where croissants and other breakfast fare can be brought.
