Good stuff: excellent location, very handy for the Metro. Huge range of restaurants nearby. Very little traffic noise considering its position.
Overall: The hotel was ideal as a base for a short break. We did not expect to spend a great deal of time there and its excellent location to the Metro was a great help. Its is surrounded by a vast range of restaurants and cafes for both breakfast and dinner. The hotel breakfast was also good but very crowded at times. The staff were always very helpful.

Good stuff: The reception staff where helpful and friendly, the room was comfortable and clean.
Bad stuff: The reception area, bar/restaurante where being refurbished during our stay. This would have been nice to have known before we booked.
Overall: The hotels location was brilliant, close metro station and easy to all the main tourist attractions. Lots of nice restaurantes near by. The room was clean and spacious. The reception, restaurante/bar where being refurbished during our stay, it would have been nice to have been informed of this when booking. The corridors are a little dark and could be cleaner. The reception staff where very helpful and friendly. I would not hesitate to stay there again and would recommend it, good value for money.

Good stuff: We had a room on the top floor which had a mezzanine floor with a king size bed and a view of Notre Dame, the bath was in the lounge area and the toilet and basin were very small and up the stairs near the bed.The room had real French character!
Bad stuff: Shower over the bath in the lounge was impossible to use as it flooded the carpet as there was no cubicle or shower curtain around it. The hotel was being refurbished so it was not quite as clean as it should be and the corridors were very dark with sheets etc over the carpets which made some of the stairs dangerous. Towels were very thin and threadbare and the toiletries were very sparse considering the hotel charges, perhaps more information available for tourists on things in paris at the time of the visit.
Overall: Near Notre Dame and the latin Quarter so convenient for sight seeing and finding plenty of restaurants of different types, however you have to balance this with the noise going on until 1am in the nearby cafes etc, and crowds - especially in high season months. Hotel is quite cramped inside and nowhere really to sit and lounge, reception quite small and the bar is part of the attached restaurant therefore not too easy to have a drink as people usually eat in the restaurant and only a few tables on a busy street pavement. No air conditioning and windows quite small.

Good stuff: The location was excellent. The room was fine in when you compare prices to other hotels in the area.
Bad stuff: Need new bedding, and mattresses. That would be my only complaint.
Overall: This was a very memorable trip for my wife and I. Before arriving, I did not know what to expect, but I was happily surprised by the convenience of the Hotel to everything. We walked to the Louve, Notre Dame, and hopped on the Metro to go everywhere else including the Airport when we left. Getting around was easy. Getting to the Airport was easy. You can stay at Hotel St. Severin for a month and experience a new restaurant or bistro for every meal. Price to Value for this place is very good. The staff is also very friendly.
