Our splendid establishment was a private house until it was converted into a hotel in the 1920s. Since that time it has gained an enviable reputation for its sumptuously comfortable accommodation, exquisite food and attentive but unobtrusive service. When you sign your name to the guest list you will be joining many famous people that have stayed here before you, Errol Flynn, Jean Gabin and Orson Wells are just a few of the notable people who have enjoyed the style, sophistication and elegance of our establishment that we strive to maintain today.
We have 102 rooms, plus twelve elegant suites, which are individually decorated in styles that pay homage to by-gone times, and are rich in comfort and elegance. Although much of the charm and character of the original building has been retained and in places enhanced, there is also a perfect marriage with modern technology that will provide all the facilities you may require, all rooms have en-suite, climate control, air conditioning, satellite TV, internet access, Wi-Fi, telephone/answer machine, and if you get too cosy in your comfortable bed, you can book a wake-up call, to make certain you don't miss that important appointment. To avoid being disturbed by the noise of the city all of our rooms are soundproofed to help you get a good nights sleep.
In our Bivouac Cafe we serve a superb menu of traditional Mediterranean cuisine, freshly prepared and presented by our talented and imaginative chef. They also serve a range of drinks, including some exciting cocktails that are made by our barman to recipes favoured by the emperor Napoleon himself.
