Pompidou Centre is similar to London's Covent Garden - filled with street entertainment, trendy cafe bars, arty crafty fayre and a buzzy cosmopolitan feel.
Be sure to pay homage to Montmartre and its beautiful church - Sacre Coeur - once inside you can only marvel at the mosaic that depicts Christ with outstretched arms - its the larges mosaic in the world and a truly awesome sight.
Napolean commissioned Chalgrin to build an arch to glory the French Army back in 1806 which was eventually completed in 1836 - standing 50 metres high and 45 metres wide with four magnificent high reliefs crowned by Rude's masterpiece - "The Departure of the Volunteers in 1792" - The Arc de Triomphe - don't miss this tremendous piece of architecture.
Culture and entertainment are all a big part of Paris - with hundreds of museums and art galleries but the famous of all being Le Louvre - home to the mysterious Mona Lisa and many priceless treasures - don't miss this visit - truly magical.
