Welcome to the city of art, culture, museums, monuments, music, entertainment, fine foods, wonderful wines and chic fashion!
Where do we start.....some shopping perhaps - head over to Grands Boulevard for departmental stores or Galeries Lafayette for designer and more exclusive boutiques, book stores - often with a book signing author in situ and lovely places to take a leisurely lunch. For a fun morning and something a little more lively and colourful visit one of the many markets that operate in the city - French stallholders will entertain you, cajole you and delight you with their wares.
River boat rides up the Seine are a must - daytime is a wonderful way to see the city's skyline and if you alight at Notre Dame you can spend some time with this Gothic masterpiece. Evenings spend on a river boat ride are wonderfully romantic.
Sightseeing must include the piece de resistance - Tour Eiffel - climbing the steps in her heart centre is a wonderful way to feel the sheer magnitude of this piece of architecture. Stage 2 allows you a good cappuccino and at the top your reward is the breathtaking view across the city. Pay homage to Sacre Coeur on the famous Montmartre hill, visit Arc de Triomphe and spend some time browsing and mingling in Pompidou Centre - the French equivalent of Covent Garden.
Mona Lisa will smile upon you when you gaze at this world famous enigma at Le Louvre - not to be missed!
Strolls along the Seine, intimate dinners and Parisienne aire all make for a perfect evening.
