This train station has been recently updated to include RER and an important extension from the La Madeleine district. It lies in an area of Paris between the Arch de Triomphe and Montmartre. Interestingly this was the home at one time of the famous painter monet who rented a flat in January 1877 and a studio near the station. He did paint the station on canvas in what can only be called a very impressionistic way. This area also is a very good place to stop if you are in Paris to shop. The main shopping precincts are within easy reach.
